Vacuum therapy aims to heal infected surgical wounds faster

NCT ID NCT07525674

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) device can help heal infected wounds faster and reduce complications like re-infection or longer hospital stays. About 30 women with surgical site infections after obstetric or gynecologic surgery will receive VSD instead of standard wound care. The goal is to see if the vacuum approach leads to quicker, safer healing.
