Experimental treatment tested for critical liver failure
NCT ID NCT05900050
Summary
This study tested if adding an experimental drug called VS-01 to standard care could help adults with a sudden, severe worsening of chronic liver failure (ACLF) and fluid buildup in the abdomen. The trial was small, ended early, and compared VS-01 plus standard care to standard care alone. The main goal was to see if the treatment improved a score that measures the severity of liver failure after one week.
