VR headsets fight needle fear in kids

NCT ID NCT07042074

Summary

This study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) headsets can help children and teenagers overcome their severe fear of needles and medical injections. It will involve 20 young participants at Stanford hospitals, using immersive technology to gradually expose them to needle-related scenarios in a controlled, safe environment. The goal is to see if this high-tech therapy can reduce their anxiety enough to help them receive necessary medical care without sedation or extreme distress.
