Virtual walks in the park: can VR nature boost mood and memory for seniors?

NCT ID NCT07443657

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) to experience nature could improve emotional well-being and thinking skills in older adults. Thirty participants aged 60-90 were split into two groups: one used a VR headset to explore peaceful natural scenes for 30 minutes twice a week for five weeks, while a control group did not receive the VR experience. Researchers measured changes in mood, anxiety, depression, and cognitive functions like attention and memory to see if the virtual nature exposure helped.
