VR and mozart take on high blood pressure in the ER
NCT ID NCT07272486
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether adding virtual reality (VR) and classical music to standard blood pressure medication can help people who come to the emergency room with very high blood pressure (hypertensive urgency). 130 adults with high blood pressure but no organ damage were randomly assigned to get either standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus VR and music. Researchers measured blood pressure and anxiety levels over two hours to see if the non-drug approach made a difference.
