VR hypnosis trial aims to soothe agitated Alzheimer's patients during care

NCT ID NCT07264439

Summary

This study is testing whether using a virtual reality headset showing calming, hypnotic scenes can help reduce anxiety, pain, and resistance in people with Alzheimer's disease during personal hygiene care like bathing. It will compare this VR approach to standard care in 24 patients who often become agitated or opposed during these routines. The goal is to see if the VR experience makes care easier and improves the patient's quality of life.
