Virtual reality games tested as new hope for arm recovery after paralysis
NCT ID NCT06154122
Summary
This study tested whether playing virtual reality (VR) games could be a helpful addition to standard arm and hand therapy for people with recent spinal cord injuries causing paralysis in all four limbs (tetraplegia). Twelve hospital inpatients were assigned to receive either their usual therapy alone or their usual therapy plus specially designed VR games for 12 weeks. The main goal was to see if using the VR games was practical and acceptable for patients and therapists during early recovery.
