Virtual reality goggles tested to calm teens before and after surgery

NCT ID NCT06446518

Summary

This study tested whether using virtual reality (VR) headsets could help teenagers feel less anxious before chest wall surgery and experience less pain afterward. Fifty teens scheduled for surgery wore VR headsets for about an hour before and after their procedure, while their anxiety, pain levels, and vital signs were tracked. Researchers compared this group to teens who did not use VR to see if it made a difference in their comfort and recovery.
