Virtual reality tested as a calming tool for surgery anxiety

NCT ID NCT07270445

Summary

This study is testing whether using a virtual reality (VR) headset before surgery can help reduce patients' anxiety. About 172 adults scheduled for elective surgery will be randomly assigned to either use a VR headset with relaxing scenes and sounds or receive standard care. Researchers will measure anxiety levels using questionnaires and brain activity to see if VR helps patients feel calmer.
