Virtual reality tested to bring comfort and peace to hospice patients

NCT ID NCT07109050

Summary

This study is exploring whether using virtual reality (VR) can help improve the wellbeing of people receiving end-of-life (palliative) care. Up to 12 patients at an English hospice, and sometimes their companions, will try up to three VR sessions chosen to meet personal goals like relaxation or virtual travel. Researchers will track changes in symptoms, anxiety, depression, and quality of life through questionnaires and interviews to see if VR is an effective comfort tool.
