Video games replace sedation for scared kids in medical procedures

NCT ID NCT05267704

Summary

This study tested whether playing interactive virtual reality games could help children feel less pain and anxiety during kidney biopsies. Researchers offered VR headsets to 32 children aged 5-17 as an alternative or addition to sedating medications. The goal was to see if this distraction technique could make the procedure easier for kids while potentially reducing medication side effects.
