VR goggles aim to ease broken bone pain, cut opioid use

NCT ID NCT06624969

Summary

This Mayo Clinic study is testing whether using virtual reality (VR) can help reduce pain for people hospitalized with broken bones. Researchers want to see if VR can lower the need for strong painkillers like opioids and improve the hospital experience. They will enroll 100 patients to try the VR program and track their pain medicine use, hospital stay length, and overall comfort.
