Virtual worlds ease ALS suffering
NCT ID NCT06021938
Summary
This study is testing if immersive virtual reality (VR) can help reduce the feeling of shortness of breath in people with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). It will involve 35 ALS patients who already use a non-invasive breathing machine but still experience discomfort. Researchers will compare the effects of a 15-minute VR hypnosis session to a 15-minute music therapy session to see which helps more.
