Virtual war zones used to heal real trauma in groundbreaking PTSD study

NCT ID NCT06806267

Summary

This study is testing a new combination treatment for people in Ukraine suffering from PTSD due to war. It combines virtual reality therapy, where patients safely revisit traumatic memories using special goggles, with gentle electrical brain stimulation aimed at improving emotional control. Researchers want to see if using both methods together works better than virtual reality alone to reduce PTSD symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, and depression.
