First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether Vonaprazan, a newer acid blocker, works better than the standard drug Esomeprazole for healing moderate-to-severe esophagitis caused by acid reflux after POEM surgery for achalasia. About 300 adults who had POEM and developed reflux esophagitis will take one of the two drugs for 8 weeks. The main goal is to see which drug heals the esophagus better, as seen on endoscopy.
