New Heart-Zapping system tested for stubborn irregular heartbeat
NCT ID NCT06223789
Summary
This study tested a new medical device system designed to treat a common type of irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation. The system uses pulsed electrical fields to create scar tissue in the heart to block the faulty electrical signals. The trial involved 392 adults whose symptoms continued despite medication, and it aimed to see if the procedure was safe and effective at controlling the irregular rhythm for one year.
