Volleyball study: one quick workout may prime athletes for peak performance hours later
NCT ID NCT07483931
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a brief, high-intensity isometric exercise can improve jump performance in highly trained male volleyball players several hours after they do it. Fourteen players completed two different warm-up routines on separate days, and their jump height, muscle temperature, and muscle stiffness were measured before, 6 hours, and 30 hours later. The goal was to see if a specific conditioning exercise could help athletes perform better later in the day, which could inform training and competition strategies.
