Getting home faster after surgery: a simple bladder test makes the difference
NCT ID NCT04487600
Summary
This study looked at which of two common methods for checking bladder function after a same-day hysterectomy helps patients go home faster. Researchers compared an 'active' test, where fluid is put into the bladder after surgery, to a 'passive' test, where the catheter is simply removed. They wanted to see if one method reduced hospital time, discomfort, or the need for overnight stays for the 130 women participating.
