Singers test two voice workouts: which one hits the high notes?
NCT ID NCT06712979
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two voice training techniques in 20 healthy voice professionals (like singers and teachers). One method uses a step-by-step exercise routine, and the other adds a device that helps inflate the lungs before vocalizing. The goal is to see which approach improves vocal range and quality. Participants must have no voice disease, and smokers or those with certain health issues are excluded.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Adapted Lee Silverman Method (exercise protocol) and Lung Volume Recruitment Technique (device-assisted breathing)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward better voice training techniques for singers and other voice professionals.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study (20 people) in healthy volunteers, so results may not apply to people with voice disorders. The methods are low-risk but may not show clear differences.
