Scientists hunt for clues to solve voice disorder mystery
NCT ID NCT05150106
Summary
This study aims to find clearer ways to tell the difference between two similar-sounding neurological voice disorders: laryngeal dystonia (which causes strained or interrupted speech) and voice tremor (which causes a shaky voice). Researchers will use voice recordings, imaging, and muscle measurements to identify the unique features of each condition in 165 participants. The goal is to improve diagnosis so people can get the right treatment sooner.
