Could a nerve zap at home help stroke survivors regain arm movement?
NCT ID NCT05691023
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looks at whether stroke survivors with lasting arm weakness can get effective therapy at home using a device that stimulates the vagus nerve during rehab exercises. About 50 participants who already have the Vivistim implant will receive up to 36 hours of in-home therapy paired with nerve stimulation. The main goal is to see if at least 24 hours of therapy can be delivered within 18 weeks, and to measure changes in arm function.
