First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental gel called VMD-3866 for people with nerve pain from chemotherapy (CIPN). The gel is applied to the skin and works by calming overactive nerves without entering the brain, so it's not addictive. Researchers will compare the gel to a placebo in 16 adults whose cancer is in remission but who have had moderate nerve pain for at least 3 months. The goal is to see if the gel safely reduces pain.
