Scientists hunt clues to stop deadly disease from coming back
NCT ID NCT07487350
Summary
This study aims to understand why a serious parasitic disease called visceral leishmaniasis (VL) often returns or persists in patients who also have HIV. Researchers will follow 20 adult patients in Ethiopia to learn what factors in the patient's body and the parasite cause this ongoing illness. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better ways to monitor treatment for this vulnerable group.
