Vitamin-Based treatment tested for rare brain disorder

NCT ID NCT04182763

Summary

This study tested whether a vitamin metabolite could help control Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN), a rare genetic brain disorder. Researchers enrolled 77 people with PKAN across North America to check if the treatment was safe and if it affected disease markers. The main goals were to monitor side effects and see if participants could tolerate and stick with the treatment regimen.
