Can a vitamin pill slow hardening of the arteries?
NCT ID NCT05259046
Summary
This study is testing whether taking a daily vitamin K supplement for three years can slow the progression of calcium buildup in the heart's arteries, a condition linked to heart disease. It involves 450 adults from Denmark who already have some early signs of this artery hardening. Participants will take either the vitamin K pill or a placebo (a dummy pill) without knowing which one they are getting, and researchers will compare their heart scans after three years.
