Can daily supplements shield diabetic hearts?
NCT ID NCT06351566
Summary
This study tested whether taking daily vitamin D3 or prebiotic (inulin) supplements for six months could improve markers of heart disease risk in people with type 2 diabetes. About 190 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real supplements or placebo pills and powders. Researchers measured changes in blood sugar control, cholesterol, and gut bacteria to see if these common supplements offer a protective benefit.
