Can extra vitamin d give tiny babies a healthier start?

NCT ID NCT05459298

Summary

This study is testing whether giving very premature babies a higher daily dose of vitamin D (800 IU) during their first 28 days of life improves their health compared to usual care. Researchers will measure vitamin D levels and check if the supplement helps the babies' lungs, bones, immune system, and brain develop better. The trial includes 180 infants born before 28 weeks or weighing less than 2.2 pounds.
