Can a simple vitamin pill stop diabetes before it starts?
NCT ID NCT07448974
Summary
This study is testing whether taking a weekly vitamin D supplement, with the dose adjusted to reach a specific target level in the blood, can help control blood sugar in adults who are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. One hundred adults with prediabetes will be randomly assigned to receive either vitamin D or a placebo pill for about 18 months. Researchers will use continuous glucose monitors to see if the vitamin D helps keep blood sugar in a healthy range more often.
