Could a simple vitamin stop another heart attack?
NCT ID NCT02996721
Summary
This study tested whether getting vitamin D levels to a healthy range could help prevent serious heart-related problems in people who recently had a heart attack. Over 600 participants were randomly assigned to either receive standard care or have their vitamin D levels carefully managed with supplements. The goal was to see if this targeted approach reduced the combined risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or hospitalization for heart failure.
