Vitamin d fix may boost immunity in black men with prostate cancer

Summary

This study tests whether fixing vitamin D deficiency in Black and West African men with prostate cancer can strengthen their immune system and improve quality of life. About 200 men with low vitamin D will take daily supplements for 8 weeks and be followed for up to 3 years. Researchers will compare immune function between men with localized versus advanced cancer, and with similar patients in the U.S.
