First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether high doses of vitamin C given through an IV can help people recover better after a liver transplant. About 90 adults having their first liver transplant will be randomly assigned to receive either vitamin C or a placebo (salt water) for 48 hours after surgery. The main goal is to see if vitamin C reduces overall organ failure, measured by a standard score, in the days after transplant.
