Emergency rooms test common vitamin for injury pain

NCT ID NCT06306183

Summary

This study is testing whether vitamin C can help reduce pain from recent injuries like sprains, strains, or fractures in adults visiting the emergency department. Participants will take either vitamin C or a placebo pill for three days starting in the ER, and track their pain levels. The goal is to see if this common, low-cost vitamin can provide a safe pain relief option and potentially reduce the need for stronger medications like opioids.
