Vitamin c infusion trial aims to save lives after heart stops
NCT ID NCT05817851
Summary
This study is testing whether giving high-dose vitamin C through an IV soon after a cardiac arrest can help control the dangerous shock that often follows. Researchers will compare standard care alone to standard care plus vitamin C and vitamin B1 in 234 unconscious patients who remain in shock after their heart is restarted. The main goal is to see if the vitamin treatment helps patients stabilize faster by reducing their need for blood pressure support medications within three days.
