Vitamin b tested to speed recovery after Life-Saving transplants
NCT ID NCT04332341
Summary
This small, early-stage study is testing whether a common vitamin B supplement called nicotinamide riboside (TRU NIAGEN) is safe and tolerable for patients receiving a bone marrow transplant from a donor. The goal is to see if this supplement can help the donor cells settle in and start making new blood cells faster, which could reduce the risk of infections and bleeding during recovery. Researchers will measure how many patients can take most of their doses and track how quickly their white blood cells and platelets return to safe levels.
