B vitamins tested as a simple fix for Post-Dental nerve damage
NCT ID NCT07592897
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether taking a daily vitamin B complex pill for 8 weeks can help people recover feeling in their lower lip, chin, or gum after dental procedures like wisdom tooth removal. Fifty adults with nerve numbness will be randomly assigned to get either the vitamins or a placebo. Neither they nor their doctors will know who gets what. The goal is to see if the vitamins improve sensation better than natural healing alone.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Vitamin B complex (B1, B6, B12, and others)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, low-cost way to speed up nerve recovery after dental procedures, improving quality of life for many people.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 50 participants. The results may not apply to everyone, and the vitamin may not work better than a placebo.
