NCT ID NCT07358832
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether combining a special audio-visual training with mild brain stimulation can help people who lost part of their vision after a stroke. Forty-eight participants in the early recovery phase will either get real or fake brain stimulation during daily 90-minute training sessions for 10 days. Researchers will measure changes in their visual field and reaction times over the next year.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and audio-visual training
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new rehabilitation method to help people regain some vision after a stroke.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 48 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The training is intensive and may not lead to lasting improvement.
