New Laser-Guided therapy aims to restore shoulder function in breast cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT07542106

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding visual biofeedback to standard physiotherapy improves shoulder mobility, strength, and function in women who had breast cancer surgery. Forty women with shoulder problems after surgery will be randomly assigned to either conventional physiotherapy or the same program plus a laser-based visual feedback system. The goal is to see if the biofeedback approach leads to better recovery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Visual biofeedback using the MotionGuidance system

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a more effective way to restore shoulder function after breast cancer surgery, helping women regain strength and mobility faster.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The added benefit of biofeedback over standard physiotherapy may be small or absent.
