First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding visual aids to the usual written consent form helps patients better understand anesthesia risks and procedures. About 236 adults scheduled for surgery will be randomly assigned to get either standard consent or consent with pictures. Thirty minutes later, a quiz measures how much they understood. The goal is to see if visuals improve patient knowledge and awareness.
