Could common heart meds be the key to stopping dementia before it starts?
NCT ID NCT07447206
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether carefully managing two common health issues—high blood pressure and high cholesterol—can help prevent dementia in people who are genetically at risk. It will enroll 10 adults aged 50-75 who carry a specific gene linked to higher dementia risk. All participants will receive standard medications for six months to control their blood pressure and cholesterol, and researchers will track changes in these levels and how well people stick to their medication plan.
