NCT ID NCT07447206

First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This small pilot study will test whether a pharmacist-led program to manage high blood pressure and high cholesterol can help protect brain health in 10 people aged 50-75 who carry the APOE ε4 gene, a known risk factor for dementia. Participants will take standard medications (ARBs for blood pressure and statins for cholesterol) for six months. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and improves blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which may lower dementia risk.
