NCT ID NCT07653074

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how nearsightedness (myopia) and other vision problems affect the quality of life of Swedish children and teens. Researchers will translate a vision questionnaire into Swedish and test it on 300 healthy kids aged 0-17. Participants will get a full eye exam and answer questions about how their vision affects everyday activities. The goal is to create a reliable tool for clinics and research, and to see if vision problems have become more common over the past 20-30 years.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study will provide a validated Swedish questionnaire to measure how vision affects children's daily lives, and offer updated data on how common nearsightedness is among youth.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not test any therapy or intervention, so it cannot directly improve vision or health outcomes.
