NCT ID NCT07653074
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how nearsightedness (myopia) and other vision problems affect the quality of life of Swedish children and teens. Researchers will translate a vision questionnaire into Swedish and test it on 300 healthy kids aged 0-17. Participants will get a full eye exam and answer questions about how their vision affects everyday activities. The goal is to create a reliable tool for clinics and research, and to see if vision problems have become more common over the past 20-30 years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study will provide a validated Swedish questionnaire to measure how vision affects children's daily lives, and offer updated data on how common nearsightedness is among youth.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not test any therapy or intervention, so it cannot directly improve vision or health outcomes.
