Supercharged t cells take on seven viruses in transplant patients

NCT ID NCT03180216

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests whether immune cells (T cells) grown in a lab from a donor can safely prevent or treat seven different viruses in people who have had a bone marrow transplant. About 32 participants will receive these cells either as a preventive measure or to treat an active infection that hasn't improved with standard care. The main goal is to check for side effects, including graft-versus-host disease, while also monitoring how well the cells control the viruses.
