Can video calls replace clinic visits for palliative care?
NCT ID NCT07274904
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether virtual palliative care (via video calls) works as well as standard in-person care for adults with cancer. About 252 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. Researchers will measure quality of life, symptom burden, and satisfaction over 12 months to see if remote care is a good alternative.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
virtual palliative care (video consultations)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that virtual palliative care is as effective as in-person visits, making it easier for patients to access support from home.
What could go wrong
This is a single-center trial in Jordan, so results may not apply everywhere. Virtual care may not suit all patients, and the study is not yet recruiting.
