Scientists use virtual reality to trick your brain into feeling less pain
NCT ID NCT06986122
Summary
This research study aims to understand how feeling in control and your surroundings affect pain and anxiety. Healthy participants will explore different virtual reality rooms, some where they can control a painful heat stimulus and some where they cannot. Researchers will measure changes in pain reports, anxiety, brain activity, and heart rate to learn how the mind influences physical sensations.
