First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) goggles during needle insertion can lower pain and anxiety in people on hemodialysis. About 150 adults with end-stage kidney disease will be randomly assigned to receive standard care or VR distraction. The goal is to see if a simple, drug-free technique can make a routine but uncomfortable procedure more tolerable.
