First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tested whether wearing virtual reality (VR) glasses during a leg artery procedure (angioplasty) can lower patients' pain and anxiety. 52 adults having elective angioplasty were randomly assigned to either use VR or not. Researchers measured pain and anxiety levels at different times and recorded any extra medication needed. The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to make the procedure more comfortable.
