Summary

This study tested whether a virtual reality (VR) program that teaches coping skills can reduce belly pain in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). 73 adults with IBS and significant abdominal pain were randomly assigned to either the VR therapy or a sham VR. The goal was to see if VR could improve pain and quality of life compared to a placebo.
