First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether watching nature-themed videos through virtual reality glasses can reduce anxiety and distress in pregnant women hospitalized with premature rupture of membranes. 176 women will either receive standard care or watch calming nature videos twice a day for three days. Researchers will measure changes in fetal health anxiety, prenatal distress, and mother-baby bonding.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to ease anxiety and improve emotional well-being for pregnant women hospitalized with premature rupture of membranes.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 176 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The intervention is brief (5 minutes twice a day for 3 days), and any benefits might be short-lived.
