First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether watching virtual natural environments—through a VR headset or a tablet—could improve relaxation, mood, and stress in older adults living in long-term care facilities. Over 100 residents aged 60 and older took part, viewing nature scenes for 10 minutes, three times a week, for eight weeks. The researchers measured heart rate, blood pressure, and emotional well-being to see if these virtual experiences could help residents feel better without leaving their care home.
