Your phone as your physical therapist? study tests virtual knee recovery

NCT ID NCT05556850

Summary

This study tested whether a new virtual rehabilitation program called STABL works as well as standard in-person physical therapy for people recovering from minor knee surgery. Sixty adults who had a meniscectomy or synovectomy were randomly assigned to use the at-home STABL platform or attend regular physical therapy for six weeks. The STABL system uses a phone or computer camera to guide exercises and allows surgeons to monitor progress remotely.
